Backgrounds
Every hero was raised in Lanternhold; a background is what it did growing up there, chosen when a character is made and kept for ever: two crafts and a recipe, its first things, someone in the city who knows it, and a tree of its own that any class may buy from.
Quay Hand
You grew up on Lanternhold's quays, hauling nets and coiling rope for any boat that would pay a copper. The harbour knows your face.
Tidewater
Fell Walker
You ran errands up the Greyspine paths for the huntsmen and the mine, and slept out more nights than in. The high country is no stranger.
High Paths
Tomb Tender
You swept the Ossuary's halls and trimmed its lamps beside the keepers. The dead were your quiet company, and you learned their rites.
Quiet Halls
Furrow Child
You worked the fields past Northgate at sowing and harvest, up before the sun. You know soil, seed and weather.
Hearthfield
Cove Runner
You carried things along the Smugglers' Cove that no one asked about. The watch remembers you; the cove's folk trust you.
Low Tide
Wall Page
You ran messages for the watch along the walls and gates, day and night. The guards treat you as one of their own.
Wallwatch
Stall Child
You cried wares and minded a stall in the market from the day you could count. Every trader in town knows you.
Stallcraft
Bellows Hand
You worked the bellows and the quench in the smithies until the heat was home. You know metal before it knows itself.
